AP Art course work
For the following assignment we again worked in Adobe Illustrator and continued from our form gradations. We were to create more form variations but add color.

Variations in Color

This was my second creation for this assignment I played again with scale as well as empasis. I decided to create a variation here by changing the size of the form throughout the piece. I arranged the form in a mannor to create a sort of harmony that gives the piece a certain movement. Lastly I decided to go with an orange background to play off the empty space of th open design.
This image was my first and favorite piece the simplisity of the design creates a contrast between the actual form and the background. I used the two yellow squares in the background to help give shape and more contrast to the piece. I created form by placing the letter out of the colored in area making it appear more three dimensionsal.
For this next piece I attempted to recreate the shape of DNA. I scaled and arranged the letter to do so. I then layered the background to again give the piece a three dimensional feel similar to the first image. The line of the image as well as the black and white color scheme stood out very nicely against the green background.
For this image I went back to the color scheme of my first creation and once again layered the background to give the piece movement. In this piece I centered around line considering the letter I had created was made up ot lines. I used a variation of thick and thin lines to create value, as well as curved and straight lines. I believe this piece lacks a focal point but is overall successful.

As for this final piece I decided to focus on contrast. I used a very simple design for this piece and complicated it by using repeating patterns. By changing the proportions I was able to create a value with the lines and created an overall sense of balance. While the image has a sense of balance I still gave it a focal point again utalizing the boldness of the lines.
