Pattern Overlay
This assignment was the pattern overlay project. For this assignment the task was to create an image by overlaying a pattern on top of a photo we had taken, the following are my attempts.
This first image was my final piece for this assignment I choose a zigzag like pattern over a photo of a fountain. I used a transparent layer to create visual interest and erased the opaque portion of the pattern in order to reveal the image, which created a beautiful combination of the images.
These three images were my third attempt at the assignment. I create variations of the first overlay I created experimenting with color and attempting different patterns to both contrast and follow the theme of the image. The first of these images was my last attempt where I experimented using color and framing the image to accentuate this.
For this image I use one of my photos from the tilt your camera assignment. I experimented with texture for this piece and broke the rules a bit. Instead of cutting away a frame using the rectangular tool I used a textured eraser. I feel this image succeeded with the texture but the photo is not that well taken and the frame is a bit odd.
