The following assignment was our first project using Adobe Illustrator. The project was to use the line tool in Illustrator and create with it. We were not allowed to use color or anything other than the line tool.
This was my second creation and my most successful piece for this assignment. The focus of this assignment was to expirament with line and here I did just that. For this first image I played with pattern by mirroring the two sides of the image but still giving the image movement by keeping them from becoming identical. I created the center circle as the point of emphasis the result ended up looking similar to an iris. Lastly I played with geometrical shapes for this piece as well creating space by filling in negative space.
For this image I created a variation of the previous image. Here I removed most of the lines in the circle to create more negative space. I also added more to the pattern by adding more circles in the lower triangles to fill in space once more. Overall this piece was more expiramental and was less sucessful then the previous creation.
This image was my first attempt for this assignment. I feel this piece is successful because it shows apperent risk taking. In this image I decided to invert the colors in order to bring more attention to the lines. The black background also helps in creating space, the image begins to look as though the black is positive space whilt the white is the negative space. The inverted color also aids in creating a more apperent and bold contrast.
