25 Grid Assignment

This was the first part of the 25 grid assignment. The assignment called for 25 images of one scene combined to create one coherent image. I choose a grocery store due to the overwhelming amount of visual interest gained from it. I organized the grid to resemble the original scene. I photographed the entire scene as well as close-ups of the objects around. I then arrange the image to resemble a warped picture of the scene.

This image is the result of the next part of the assignment which was to break the rules of the previous grid by adding effects, layering, and more. I used a photo of a old building inside and out and manipulated it to create visual interest by playing with effects, layering, and masking. I shaped the image in order to keep negative space and drag the eye towards both corners giving the image movement. The colorful images and dark background also create a contrast and bring attention to the pictures.

This was the second image I created for the 'break the rules' portion of the assignment. I used a photo I'd taken of a motorcyle and used a lot of the same techniques I had in the previous image to rebuild it. I feel this image is less successful because it has less color and seems more random. I expiramented more with space by cutting out rectangular shapes in the image, the effect came out similar to a computer glitch.

25 Grids

The following assignment was the 25 grid project. This assignment was a variation on the 9x9 grid assignment. Here we continued using the rule of thirds and attempted to create a new image out of other images of a scene.
