In this assignment we had to photgraph images of hands as you can see below, and edit the images however we liked.

Hands

This is the second image I created for this assignment I feel it came out the best out of the three. I wanted to stick to a theme of black and white images with pops of color. Here I scaled down another photo of my hands and placed it in the photo as if it was coming out of the eye to play with a theme of identity. I felt this image expressed the stuggle of confoming ones self to fit societies standards, but the true self constantly fights to stay alive expressed by the smaller hand. As for color I kept the image black and white except for the iris.

In this image I stuck with the balck and white theme and made the pop of color the red liquid which acted like blood. I went with the old technique I used in my collections photograph. I feel I was less successful with the blood since it doesn't look very realistic, but I was reminded of self harm for this image. The main manipulation in this image was the color other than that I kept it simple to keep from overwhelming the image. I felt for these photos not much manipulation was needed although I could have experimented more.

This was my final image which I feel to be my least successful one. I feel the photo itself was a good one but it does not adhere to the theme of hands. The image did not have a thought process and does the opposite of the assignments purpose. The main focus in this image is the camera I used color only on the camera to create a contract between the photographer and the instrument. This image was more expiramental and while it failed for the hands project the image itself isn't bad and helped me grow.
